The average frame-rate for video games is around 50 FPS, and the length of an average video game is, let's say, about 8 hours, start to finish (excluding cutscenes if necessary). 8 hours times 60 minutes in each hour equals 480 minutes. multiply by 60 seconds in a minute and you get 28'800 seconds. in each of those seconds you get 50 frames (or pictures). 28'800 seconds times 50 FPS equals 1'440'00 frames in an average campaign.
The old saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words." if that is true, then, in retrospect, a video game is worth a 1'440'000'000 word essay as to why it didn't appeal to you.
